Carolina announces full training camp roster
GREENSBORO, N.C.- The Carolina Thunderbirds, 2019 Commissioner’s Cup champions and proud members of the Federal Prospects Hockey League, announced their 2019 training camp roster on Monday.
“I’m excited to finally start main camp. We are looking forward to making a roster that is going to be competing into late April again, trying to win another championship,” said head coach Andre Niec.
Michael Bunn(27g, 29a), Jiri Pargac (22g, 41a), and Petr Panacek (18g, 36a) headline the group of forwards for the Thunderbirds camp. Bunn was the 2019 FPHL Playoff MVP and is the longest-tenured player with the Thunderbirds in the camp.
On the blue line, Stanislav Vlasov(11g, 16a), Jay Kenney(2g, 7a) and Dominik Fejt (5g, 23a) are the only returning defensemen. Nathan Campbell (6g, 23a) played in the FPHL last season, but split time between Elmira and Danbury.
Patrik Polivkaand Jared Burch are both FPHL rookies who have North American-playing experience in goal. Polivka is a former WHL first-round selection with the Victoria Royals and played 96 games for Victoria over two seasons. Burch comes from Florida Gulf Coast University (ACHA D3) where he played 87 games for the Eagles, posting a 63-14 record.
